What is TEDx?
TEDx is a grassroots initiative, created in the spirit of TED’s overall mission to research and discover “ideas worth spreading.” TEDx brings the spirit of TED to local communities around the globe through TEDx events. These events are organized by passionate individuals who seek to uncover new ideas and to share the latest research in their local areas that spark conversations in their communities. TEDx events include live speakers and recorded TED Talks, and are organized independently under a free license granted by TED. These events are not controlled by TED, but event organizers agree to abide by our format, and are offered guidelines for curation, speaker coaching, event organizing and more. They learn from us and from each other. More than 3000 events are now held annually.
What is TEDxNagpur?
Nagpur, the beating heart of India, is a city where tradition and innovation embrace in perfect harmony. Our Orange City, its vibrant hues extend beyond its famed citrus orchards to the zest of its people, the warmth of its culture, and the timeless inscription of its history. Proudly nested at the center of the nation, our city Nagpur holds the distinction of being India’s Zero Mile City—a symbolic convergence point for the rich diversity that defines India. From the serenity of Ambazari Lake to the majestic Deeksha Bhoomi, a beacon of equality and transformation, every corner of Nagpur tells a story of resilience, pride, and boundless potential.
Yet, Nagpur is more than its landmarks; it is the spirit of its people that makes it truly extraordinary. A progressive hub of innovation and education, the city pulses with youthful energy while honoring its legacy as a center for social reform and progress. As the Tiger Capital of India, it stands as a evidence to our nation’s commitment to ecological conservation, housing nature’s wild beauty alongside its growing quality infrastructure. Nagpur is not just a city—it’s a feeling, a narrative of our dreams realized, and a promise of an inspired tomorrow.
At TEDxNagpur, we invite you to experience this spirit, celebrate its stories, and discover the magic of a city that never ceases to amaze.

TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Sal Khan and Daniel Kahneman. The annual TED Conference takes place each spring in Vancouver, British Columbia. TED has established The Audacious Project that takes a collaborative approach to funding ideas with the potential to create change at thrilling scale; TEDx, which supports individuals or groups in hosting local, self- organized TED-style events around the world, and the TED Fellows program, helping world-changing innovators from around the globe to amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities.
